What is a Reproductive Endocrinologist?

A Reproductive Endocrinologist is a sub-specialist in Obstetrics and Gynecology who deals with infertility, recurrent pregnancy loss, birth defects of the reproductive tract and reproductive hormonal disorders such as PCOS and endometriosis. As a sub-specialist, he/she is required to complete 2-3 years of additional training, perform and publish original research and complete a very rigorous written and oral examination beyond what is required of an OB/GYN. Reproductive endocrinologists have the time and expertise needed to deal with complex fertility issues.
